It’s 4:15 AM and I’m up getting myself going so I that I can be out before the heat today. I have a (hopefully) 18-20 mile run to do today. If everything goes well, I’ll be done by 9:00. The forecast is for it to be under 80 until 10:00, so it shouldn’t be bad. Although it is hard to get up at 4:00 on my day off… Only 4 weeks left.
Strange, my hip hurts quite a bit this morning. Hopefully as I move it will loosen up!
That is about it for today. I need to get going and get my mind set for my run. 4 mile loops. Hopefully 5 of them.
Until tomorrow…
Good luck on your long run. I’m out in the desert and also got up stupidly early to get my log run in (“only” 14 tho). I’ve been having a lot of hip pain as well and from what I’ve read, it’s from weak hip/butt muscles. Runners World and Active.com both have some good strengthening exercise ideas for that area (ie, Jane Fonda style leg lifts with ankle weights)
Wow. Thanks for the help. My Chiropractor has been giving some strength exercises to do for my hip. I jammed it a couple of months ago while running on a sidewalk and haven’t been able to let it rest long enough to heal. 4 weeks and then I can finally rest. This marathon training can be tough. 🙂
I tried to post this on your blog, but for some reason it couldn’t go through:
Congrats on the great week and long run!!! I tried GU today, but did Cliff chomps last week. I think the Chomps worked better for me. Anyway, great post!
