Quick update from me (Tom)

Thank you!!!

First, thank you to my brother Jeff and my Lovely Wife for posting updates and keeping you all updated on my marathon.

Second… Thank you for all your support.  This was a rough run, but a good one.  I had a great 12 miles and a tough 14.2 miles.  I will post a race recap tomorrow , Lord willing.

Suffice it to say, I really enjoyed running this marathon.  It was my first and I’ll never forget it.  I was thinking during the difficult times about the fact that 2 years ago I couldn’t run a 1/4 mile.  Well I did, but I had to stop and walk home!!!

Now I am a marathoner.  Crazy.  After a quick stop in the medic tent for an IV, I was back to normal… Sort of.

Anyway, you have been wonderful and I can’t thank you enough for your encouragement!!!

God bless!

Tom

  1. Great effort. Congratulations. Well done.
First Marathon the aim is to finish. Now for the next one its time to run for a time. A sub 4 is a great achievement….go for it !!
    Good luck.
    Recover well.

  2. You must be so proud of yourself! And you should be! What an accomplishment!!! I can’t imagine how you must be feeling (other than tired! LOL) I cannot wait to read the race recap! Well done!

  3. What a great accomplishment! I’m sorry you had to miss your mom’s party, but you gave her a great gift letting her watch you cross the finish line.

  4. I’ve been so excited for you as I jumped into watching your journey a few months ago. I think it’s awesome what you’ve accomplished, and am very happy for you. Toot your own horn because you deserve it!!!

  5. Sounds like you had to tough it out Tom. A ‘small stop for an IV’ is an understatement if ever I’ve seen one…
Many congratulations on your first marathon, and may it be merely the first of many on the way to achieving your dream.
