I honestly haven’t been forgetting about my blog. It is just hard to have a running blog when you aren’t running.
I am feeling better though. In fact yesterday was the first day I woke up with no hip pain. That on top of my walk on Saturday where I ran very slowly for about 20% of the walk. I just wanted to see how I was progressing and I’d say it is going well… I think.
Today may or may not be my first day back running. I had little sleep last night, and I don’t want to mess up my hip because of bad form from being tired. I’ll wait until I get home from work and see how I feel.
All in all things are progressing in the right direction. I hope to get back to running every day soon.
I was wondering if you were ok…one more day off from running wont kill you. I say rest and try it tomorrow. Better to be safe than sorry, right? Hang in there!!
Thanks! I agree. It is better to not hurt myself again, then try to come back too soon.
Have you thought about an Aqua Jogger? Not sure how the injury effects your mobility, but might be something to considered since you’re not one big on rest
I hadn’t heard of that. I’ll look into it. Thanks!
I wrote about aqua jogging a few times on my blog. Here is one of my posts: http://troublerun.blogspot.com/2013/08/aqua-jogging-it.html
I’ve got a broken foot, and I know what you mean about blogging about running without running!
Cool. Thanks for the link. I’ll go check it out. It is hard to be injured when you have a one dimensional blog (talking about myself here).
Good luck to you in recovery. Checking the WordPress reader is a lot more fun when you are running!
Agree. I have been trying to stay up with my reader, but haven’t been very successful. Hopefully that will change soon.
Good to hear that you are thinking about running, even if you aren’t doing it or writing about it!
Thanks. I hope you are doing well. I haven’t kept up as well on my blog reading, but hope to catch up more tonight.
Hi Tom, I was wondering where you had got to!
Don’t be hard on yourself. You’ve got an injury. Every runner gets injured at some point. It’s just part of the trials and tribulations of the sport.
So you’re not running? Tell us what you’re doing instead! What weird nasty exercise has the chiropractor got you doing now? How much do you want to meet the inventor of the foam roller so you can tell them what you really think of that little tube of pain delivered in such a calming pastel colour?
I’m sure I’m speaking for everyone here when I say we’re rooting for you to get back on the running train, and that we all understand from our previous experience what you’re going through and we are just as interested to see how you’re dealing with not doing what you’ve come to love.
See you back on the running train soon!
I know what you mean, I have been doing more strength training/yoga than running the past week, the change in pace has been good on some levels, on another, like thinking running will feel easier, not so much. Thus, not inspired to write about still feeling discouraged with running. One step at a time and I look forward to the day when we both can say this is all behind us! 🙂
I agree. We will both be back one day. I was feeling better and ran slowly and then pulled my achilles. What can you do! Just keep going and hoping all will work out. It will all work out!!!
Oh no! 😦 I hope you feel better soon, and yes, we will both make a great comeback! 🙂
