In July 2011, I weighed 278 lbs. On Mar 12, 2013 I made the decision to qualify for the Boston Marathon. This was my journey. Now I'm a recovering alcoholic, this is my new journey. I'm still running a marathon, just a different type.
Not bad coming from a formally obese, high blood pressure, pre-diabetic, legs swelling, barely able to breathe 49 year old man who, now at 51 feels a lot better.
That is incredible! Congratulations. It shows your hard work and determination are pretty awesome. Being me, I would do something to wreck it….like eat a double cheeseburger with fries 😉
I’ve never tracked my total number of miles. Wish I had over the years. Congrats Tom!
From reading your blog, you’d be at about 6,000 I’m sure. Thanks for the congrats. It is nice to see the milestone!
Awesome!
Thank you! 🙂

Ha, that’s a great idea! 🙂 I was worried about a running injury at 2,999! I’m glad that didn’t happen!
